Katyusha rockets were used by the Iraqi insurgents to fire into the Baghdad Green Zone. I remember having a discussion with a US EOD soldier after our first attack in 2003. He advised that the rocket had less than $50 worth of material. He estimated that labor to assemble one was maybe another $50 so he put the value at about $100. Granted that was 2003 so if we double the cost to our $200 today. The Israel Iron Dome missiles have been estimated to cost the US taxpayer about $100,000 each. How many Israeli citizens have been killed over the last 25 years from these Katyusha rockets? I do not recall hearing of any Israeli getting killed and the damage has been small. So, why do we spend so much for so little benefit?
